Wierd Liebe= Epilogue

It was October; six months since the Wierd-Tokio Hotel Tour finished.
Shortly after the tour, Wierd went back to see their families for a brief period then went back on the road on a new tour.
They were a big hit everywhere now and they've been busy throughout these past several months.
"Show starts in 10 minutes," the Wierd manager announced to the band. They were in a dressing room getting ready.
Anna was seated in front of the mirror, her hands were shaking.
"Calm down," Zee patted her friend's shoulder. "It's just an interview."
But it wasn't the interview that was making her nervous. Anna didn't want to admit it so she just shook her head. "Where's Kait?"
"Um," Zee thought for a moment. "Not sure... She went to check on---"
"Nevermind," Anna cut in. She didn't want to hear the name.
"Look," it was George who spoke this time. "Stop being so edgey. It's not like we parted in a rough patch."
Anna looked at George with chagrin. But she knew he was right. She was being unrationally edgey.
"Just breathe," Zee smiled at her.
Anna nodded in response.
"Bill and the others will be first to be interviewed anyway," George added. But this only made Anna's heart beat faster.
Seeing them again... Anna thought. What a treat.

~
Six months ago...
Anna and Bill were on the rooftop. They were leaning closer towards each other when...
BANG!
The sound of the slamming door made them both jump; their moment was gone.
Anna looked up at Bill. His eyes seemed to be thinking the same thing.
"I can't do this," Anna said in less than a whisper. "I'm sorry, Bill."
Bill didn't answer verbally, but he nodded and hugged her tightly.
"Still friends?" he asked lightly.
Anna nodded softly against his chest. "Mm-hm..."
~

"There they are," George pointed up at the mini TV set on the top corner. It showed the four members of Tokio Hotel entering the set. The host greeted them as they sat down.
"I missed him," it was Kait. She just entered the room. "I just spoke with Gustav! I can't believe they're being interviewed in the same venu and date as us!"
Zee raised her eyebrow. "Like you didn't know?"
Kait blushed. It was her that aked the managers to make this happen. "Sorry," she said. "But this is the only way Gustav and I could see each other. We're both on tour and... come on! It's our monthsary!!"
Zee laughed and waved her hand. "Relax," she said. "It's no big deal. Anna can handle it."
Anna stared at Zee. "Oh, you're not bothered by this?"
Zee stuck her tongue out. "I haven't been shaking in nervousness, have I?"
Anna snorted. Then she looked into Kait's worried eyes. "Don't worry," she forced a small smile. "Zee's right anyway; I can handle it."
Relieved, Kait smiled and sat next to George. Then they all watched the interview together.
Zee's eyes were fixed on Tom; memories flooding into her mind.

~
She reached out to Tom's side of the bed and woke up when she discovered his absence. It was night time, and the room was dark. The only sourch of light came from George's laptop.
"Tom?" Zee called out. When no one answered, she got up and approached the table where the laptop nestled. The screen displayed the pictures she had shown Anna the night she and Tom had been together.
Surprised, Zee clicked the mouse to reveal the source of these photos. Then it came to her: Anna had been keeping them as a reminder. Guilt suddenly enveloped her as she realized how much pain she had inflicted towards her friend.
And Tom, he evidently fled when he saw this. So what does that say for him and Zee? It hurt her to think about it but she had to do what was right. Fighting back the tears, she turned the laptop off and got dressed.
She waited for Tom to come back and when he did, he looked terrible. There was something in his eyes that showed he had been hurt emotionally.
"We have to talk," Zee tried to sound stable. She watched as Tom nodded. "It's about us....and Anna."
Tom's eyes met hers when Zee mentioned the last word. She didn't really intend to tell him her agenda but she knew she had to end it.
"I think it's time we broke up," Zee began. But before she could explain further, Tom cut in.
"If tis is because I went out to---"
"No, Tom... It's because I can't do this anymore."
"I'm confused. I tot yew liked me..."
"I do. But it's obvious that you don't feel the same way."
"Zee, I---"
"You were just trying to do the right thing; I know. That's what I'm going to do now, too."
"Us, being together, is hurting everyone...including you and me."
There was a moment of silence as Tom thought about it. It was true. It hurt Anna to see him and Zee together much like when Zee saw him and Anna together, and it hurt him to see the two girls upset with each other because of him.
After a while, Tom made a slow nod and Zee understood. That's when they made calls to their managers and set everything up. It wasn't long before the news spread the juicy story of their break up and the rest was history.
Zee was back to being friends with Tom and Anna, which kept things professional until the last few days of the tour.
~

"Okay, we're up next!" it was the Wierd manager. "Come on!"
George, Kait, and Zee immediately followed. Anna, though, followed rather hesitantly.
"Anna," Zee took her hand. "Shake it off, it's been months!"
Anna rolled her eyes. "'Shake it off', very funny." But they both chuckled.
It wasn't long before they were announced by the host. Anna's heart raced but she tried to hide her nervousness by waving at the audience, avoiding any glances at the other band already sitting on the Guest Couch.
Eventually, she had to sit amongst them and she was anxious where she would end up sitting beside of.
Surprise, surprise! She was seated at the edge of the couch; Bill on the arm rest to her left. Zee was to her right followed by Tom, Kait, and, on the right arm rest, Gustav. Georg, and George were seating on stools beside the couch.
"Welcome!" The host greeted them. Amazingly, she could be heard underneath the audience roars of excitement. But it definitely took a while to calm them down.
The interview eventually started with what the band has been up to for the past six months. Then, George was asked to say some things in German and, Georg, in English.
Eventually, the conversation flowed towards the issue about Tom and Zee's break up since they sat so comfortably beside each other. Then it led to Kait and Gustav's born relationship later after the tour.
The interview wasn't as bad as Anna had anticipated. In fact, she was very comfortable being around the Tokio Hotel again. However, she avoided making glances toward either of the twins.
When the interview was over, the bands were ushered back to their dressing rooms to freshen up. Kait and Gustav, however, were out somewhere around the set to spend some time together.
"That wasn't so bad," Zee winked at Anna. "See!"
Anna sighed. But before she could answer, there was a knock at the door. Zee answered it. "Oh, hey Tom!"
Anna's eyes shot at the reflection of the opened door. She watched as Tom came in.
"Hey," Tom greeted the three occupants. He seemed to be holding something in his hand. Papers?
"You signed?" Zee gasped at the papers in Tom's hand.
Tom grinned. "Ja, good luck!"
"What's that?" Anna couldn't help but ask. Her eyes still staring at reflections.
"For our new album," George answered like it was supposed to be common sense.
Tom nodded along. "Well, I better go." He handed the papers to Zee. "Danke fur letting me know first." And he was out the door.
"I don't get it..." Anna's forehear wrinkled.
Zee sighed. "I see Kait hasn't told you the second reason why she set this whole thing up."
"What are you talking about?" Anna was puzzled. She turned to Zee now. "What's the second reason?"
Zee was hesitant. "We had to have Tom sign the release forms so we could launch your songs---"
"My songs!" Anna stood up and grabbed the papers from Zee's hands. "No one spoke to me about this---"
"You would've said 'no' if we---" George was about to explain.
"Exactly! It's personal!!" Anna forwarded towards the door. "I can't believe you guys!" Then she slammed the door and hurriedly looked for Tom.

I can't believe this! Anna's mind was racing. She was furious. How could they even think about doing this?! And TOM!! Ugh, how could he agree to this!
She knocked at the Tokio Hotel's dressing room, hoping he'd be there. But it was Bill who opened the door.
"Anna," he smiled.
"Hey Bill," Anna smiled back. "Can I come in?"
"Sure," he let her in. Tom was at the far end of the room playing his guitar and Anna just stared.
"Looking fur Kait? She's wit Gus." Bill said.
"Uh no," Anna answered quietly.
"Oh, und, good luck wit yewr new album!" he smiled. "I haven't seen eet yet but Tom--- he keeps saying he'll be more popular once it's out."
"Did he?" Anna raised an eyebrow. "I'd like to talk to him about that."
Bill chuckled. "My cue to leave?" But he didn't wait for an answer and left.
Anna crossed her arms and faced Tom. "You can stop pretending I'm not here."
"Is tat what I'm doing?" Tom grinned but he didn't look up.
"Come on, Tom... Why did you sign? You know what those songs are about."
This time, he looked up. "Why shouldn't I?"
"It's about you and me!"
"Nice," Tom's tone was both mocking and serious.
"Be serious, Tom."
Tom put his guitar away and stood up. "I won't let yew hesitate launching those songs just because uf me."
"I'm not----"but Anna stopped herself. He was right. She sighed. "What are you getting at?"
"I've hurt yew, I know tat und I've been trying to make it up to yew... I think tis is it."
"Seriously?" Anna smirked. "That's your excuse?"
"Tsk, no---not excuse! It's true. Vhen it koms to me, yew've hesitated. It's time yew stopped."
"But these songs will---"
"It's about er break up. People will tink it's about me und Zee. Yew're protected."
"But you and Zee---"
"We talked eet over before," he grinned. "It's fine wit us. It's te least we can do fur yew."
Anna sighed. She was defeated. "You guys are...okay with it?"
"More than," he smiled. "Can yew tell me somet'ing though?"
"What?"
"Can yew forgive me?"
"No, there's nothing to forgive. You didn't hurt me---"
"Not directly, no. But still... I want yewr forgiveness. Yew didn't deserve to get hurt."
"Neither did you, or Zee, for that matter."
"Actually, I see eet as Karma fur my...womanizing ways," he chuckled. "Zee said she deserved eet fur her agenda..."
It looks like Zee had already confessed what she had done to both of them.
"Look, let's just say we're even now. Okay?" Anna smiled.
Tom smiled back. "Great."

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

The door opened and Zee went inside.
"Tom!!" She gasped. "Anna's on her way to---"
"Hey Zee," Anna waved as she chuckled.
"Oh shoot," Zee was wide-eyed. Then she looked over to Tom. "Are we in trouble?"
Tom laughed. "Not tonight."

Wierd Liebe= Chapter 35: Rooftop

Anna followed Bill towards the end of the hallway...
"Bill," she stared at the sign above the door Bill was opening. "This is the fire exit."
"Ja," Bill said brightly. He smiled at Anna as he pushed the door open. Without another word, he went in and began climbing up the staircase.
Anna just followed him. "Where are we going?" she asked.
"Up," Bill told her teasingly. He chuckled a little.
Anna rolled her eyes "Oh wow," there was a hint of sarcasm in her tone. "I didn't notice."
Since they were at a very hight floor, it took them only two flights of stairs to reach the top. When they got there, Bill opened a door and revealed that they had reached the rooftop of the hotel.
Anna held her jacket tighter. It was cold outside, but the view was so breath-taking that the cold didn't seem to matter. She took a few steps forward with Bill right beside her.
"It's beautiful," Anna said half whispering.
"Ja," Bill said though his eyes laid upon Anna.
"The city lights are like reflection of the stars," she added. "It's so...beyond words, Bill. Thank you for taking me up here."
"I didn't take you up here just fur te view," Bill said.
"Let me guess," Anna said playfully. "Is this the part where you push me off the edge?"
"Nein," Bill pointed towards the side. "Look."
Anna turned. There was a candle-lit dinner table set for two with a fantastic view of the entire city. On the table was a bottle of champagne and a silver platter covered with a lid. A little to the right of this setting was a little dance floor.
"Oh my god," Anna exclaimed softly under the cover of her hands. She looked at Bill. "Bill....How did you---?"
"I made some arrangements," Bill winked. "We couldn't get out uf te hotel but.. ist tis okay?"
"Are you kidding?" Anna smiled. "This is amazing.."
Bill smiled. "Shall we?" He made a gesture and ushered Anna towards the table.
When they were settled, Bill popped the champagne open and served them both while Anna uncovered the platter.
"My favorite," Anna smiled. "How did you know?"
Bill just shrugged. "Bon appetite!"
During dinner, they talked about their experiences from their tours, their struggles, and their childhood...
"I never wanted to be anything else since I vas er kid," Bill shared. "Being er singer became my only dream."
"I wanted to be a dancer," Anna confessed. "But I wasn't cut out for it. Everyone said my voice did all the dancing for me."
"Anna the dancer," Bill rubbed his chin, pretending to think. "I haven't seen tat part yet."
"Trust me," Anna took a sip of champagne. "You don't wanna see me dance."
But Bill already stood up and offered her his hand.
Anna waved her hands. "No, Bill... It's embarrassing."
"There's no one around," Bill said with a pursuasive look. "Come on.."
Anna sighed and took Bill's hand. Then, they made their way towards the dance floor.
Soon, they danced to the silence... They didn't need music, it was just the moment playing for them.
"Thanks for everything Bill," Anna hugged him as they slow-danced. "You're a really good friend."
Bill nodded. "Yew're welcome," he said. "But there's somet'ing yew don't know..."
Anna looked up with a puzzled look on her face.
"I like yew," Bill confessed. "I've always liked yew."
At that moment, Anna's heartbeat raced. She could feel herself blushing. But before she could say anything, Bill continued.
"But I know yew have feelings fur my brother," he said. "Tat's why I never told yew."
"Then why are you telling me this now?" Anna asked softly.
"Because I can't pretend anymore," Bill answered.
"So all this....This dinner, and all those times you were there for me... Those were just to get me to fall for you---?"
"Nein, nein! Everything I've done fur yew was to make yew happy. ....I can never stand to see yew cry."
Anna was touched by this but said nothing.
"Back at that hotel in Germany," Bill went on. "When the boys und I had er gig, yew ver te only one I vas trying to please... At tat moment, yew captivated me. Und until now, I'm stuck at tat moment."
Anna remembered looking into Bill's eyes that night. That time, she knew that she felt a connection between them. Like, it was just him and her in that room.
Anna's eyes watered as she nodded. "That night, I felt something too..." she admitted.
"But tat's long gone for yew," Bill finished for her. "Isn't it?"
The answer was an expected Yes. But Anna couldn't bring herself to say it. Right now, she was feeling something different... Like this feeling had been reserved for this moment.
"It was," Anna answered softly. She looked into Bill's eyes.
"Was?" Bill echoed. He took a step closer to her.
"I don't know what I'm feeling right now," Anna explained. "but it's not for Tom."
They looked into each other's eyes for a moment; both of them drawing nearer.
~~~
Tom woke up in the middle of the night; lying next to him was Zee, soundly asleep. Careful not to wake her, Tom got up and decided to blog at Alloy.com about the tour. He remembered that Zee had George's laptop so he took it out of Zee's bag and settled on the couch.
When he finally got it to work, there was something on the desktop that caught his eye.
It was a folder that said: ANNA PIERCE's
With his heart pounding, Tom waved the mouse to over to the folder and clicked. It revealed two other folders: SONGS and DELETE
Tom decided to check out Anna's new songs first. It turns out that the songs were all untitled but all of them were finished. He read each and every one of the lyrics and learned that the songs were to be sung chronollogically.
The whole album turned out to be a story about a girl who fell for a guy but decided not to go any further because the guy was likely to hurt her in the end.
Is this why she... Tom thought after reading everything.
But there was another folder, and he clicked it open. There he found several scandalous photos and news articles about him.
"You and I know who you are.." it was Anna's voice echoing in his mind.
"Vat do yew mean?!" he remembered asking her.
But now he knew what she meant. Finally, he understood why she became so distant from him.
His heart was pounding now. Then, he remembered one more thing: "You didn't know?" it was Zee's voice. "Bill and Anna had dinner plans together."
With that, Tom took off and began to look for Anna.
I can't let her go, he thought as he raced toward Anna's room.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
There was no answer.
Tom knocked again but when there was still no answer, he decided to call her.
Damn it, he thought bitterly. Her phone is off... So is Bill's.
He went towards the elevators and as the doors open, Georg emerged out of one of them.
"Georg," Tom called out. He spoke in German. "Seen Bill anywhere?"
"On the roof, I think," Georg answered. He watched as Tom hastened towards the Fire Exit. "But---hey---he's on a date! Hey Tom! Hey---"
But Tom proceeded without looking back. He climbed up the stairs and as he ascended, he formulated a speech in his head. He was going to tell her how he felt about her, and that the pictures she had seen of him were just foolish mistakes.
Finally, he was at the doorway; and with the door half open, he slipped outside.
He was about to walk up to Anna when he saw her...with Bill.
They seemed to be talking about something serious. Soon, they were looking at each other's eyes and Bill was slowly leaning towards her.
Tom looked away and bit his lip. He felt like his heart was being ripped apart. Were they about to kiss? Well, he didn't want to find out. As far as he was concerned, his chances with Anna were officially gone.
Before either Bill or Anna could see him, he rushed inside and slammed the door behind him.
BANG!
The sound of the door made Anna and Bill jump. Once again, they were back in reality.
Wierd Liebe= Chapter 34: Hush
Wierd Liebe= Chapter 34: Hush
It didn't take long for the news about Kait and Joe's break-up to scatter all-over. But as the days rolled on, the group musicians became preocupied with their own affairs.
Tom and Zee were becoming closer than ever, so were Kait and Gustav.
Georg and George were becoming great friends much like Bill and Anna.
However, as Friday approached, Bill was not so sure if he wanted to stay 'just' friends.
And finally, it was Friday.
"It's been a long week huh?" Kait said to Anna. They were in the bus on their way to the next location.
Anna didn't respond. She was busy doing something on George's laptop.
Kait waved her hand infront of Anna's face. "Hello?"
Anna looked up. Kait had an eyebrow raised and her arms crossed. Then Anna looked behind her friend, Gustav was seated across the table, next to the window. Appareantly busy with his laptop too.
"I'm song writing," Anna replied for the sake of it.
"Write songs later," Kait snapped the laptop shut. "Talk to meeee!"
"Hey!" Anna clicked a button and opened the laptop. "I haven't saved my work. Why don't you go bother Gustav, hm?"
Kait smirked. She leaned closer to Anna. "Look at him," she whispered. "He's concentrating."
"And I wasn't?!" Anna said in disbelief. "You're unbelievable..."
But before Anna could resume her work, Kait sat beside her. "Come on," she nudged her friend. "Talk to me!"
"About what?" Anna asked half complaining.
"Oh I don't know... Bill, maybe?"
Anna looked at Kait with a suspicious look in her eye. "What about Bill?"
"You guys are going out on a date later aren't you?" Kait smirked.
"Where'd you hear that?" Anna asked.
At that moment, Gustav began whisteling. Anna looked at him. Gustav seemed to have sensed this because he looked at Anna, and tried to imply that he was innoncent by shrugging. Anna,however, wasn't buying it.
"Bill told Georg and Georg told Gustav," Kait explained. "Then it slipped out of Gustav's mouth this morning."
Gustav's eye widened and he gave Kait the How-Could-You?! look.
"What?" Kait giggled. "It's true!!"
Anna, however, was not paying attention anymore. She was preoccupied again... But this time, she wasn't typing anything down. She was staring at something......something she decided to erase---SOON.
~~~
[At the Tokio Hotel bus]
Bill, Georg and George were watching TV with Zee while Tom took a nap in the bunk room. Halfway near their destination, they got into talking.
"So it's tonight," George said to Bill. "Did you get a gift yet?"
"Gift," Zee echoed. She turned to Bill. "You bought a gift?"
Bill smiled. "Ja," he said to George. "I got it."
"Can I see?" Zee asked.
But Bill shook his head. "I had it delivered to te hotel," he lied. Though he wasn't sure why. He was actually keeping the oval case in his bag.
"Who's it for anyway?" Zee inquired.
"His date," Georg answered instead. He had a grin on his face.
"Ooh," Zee smirked. "Who's your date?"
Bill opened his mouth to answer but he found himself hesitating.
"Well?" Zee said impatiently. "Who is it?"
Bill decided not to tell her. Instead, he shrugged and ignored the question.
"Why won't you tell me?" Zee nudged him. "I get it... You're embarrassed, huh? That's okay, it's probably because I'm prettier than her---"
"It's Anna," George answered impatiently.
Both Bill and Zee looked at him, thunderstruck.
"Huh?" Zee thought she had heard him wrong.
"Don't play dumb, dummy," George teased. "Anna! Our Anna."
"He und Bill are going out tonight," Georg added.
Bill wanted to kick their faces.
Zee looked at Bill. "And how come I didn't know this?"
"I figured tat Anna would tell yew," Bill lied.
"Funny," Zee crossed her arms. "She didn't say a thing to me about that. It must've slipped her mind. I mean, we're totally okay now...Yeah... She's cheered up since---"
Zee left the rest of her sentence hanging. Her expression changed from wondering to mischievous.
"Does Tom know about this?" she asked.
"Nein," Bill confessed. "But I don't see why he would need to know... He's got yew now, doesn't he?"
Zee chuckled. "Yeah," she smiled. "But this date isn't a secret or anything, is it?"
Bill suddenly didn't know what to say. It wasn't a secret but a part of him didn't want his brother finding out about it.
So he decided to answer it like he would to a nosy inteviewer.
"I just want to keep it private," he told Zee.
"Okay," Zee winked. "Gotcha!"
~~~
After a while, they arrived at the venue. Surprisingly, it was swarming with fans which made it hard for the band members to set foot out of the hotel.
So much for my Friday night with Anna, Bill thought. But when he turned, she was right beside him.
"Looks like we're not leaving the hotel tonight," Bill tried not to sound disappointed.
"It's too bad," Anna said. "I've already made reservations."
"I'm as sorry as yew are," Bill patted her back.
But she looked up at him with a playfully warning look. "But don't think you're off the hook," she said. "we're still having dinner together."
"Yes ma'am," Bill winked.
~~~
Tom was in his room with Zee.
"I guess Bill's date isn't gonna push through today," Zee said. "It's too bad. He and Anna look cute together."
Tom looked at her. "What are yew talking about?"
"You didn't know? Bill and Anna had dinner plans together."
"Bullshit," Tom snorted. "My brother never said anyt'ing to me."
"Anna was quiet about it too," Zee assured him. "I had to find out from Georg and George. Bill himself was hesitant to answer my questions."
Tom just looked at Zee. He seemed to have something to say but couldn't let it out. After a few seconds, he stood up.
"Hey," Zee tugged on his shirt. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to find Bill," Tom pushed Zee's hand away and approached the door. As he reached for the door knob, Zee stepped in.
"What for? I already told you everything."
"I just vant to see if it's true," Tom answered her. "Now let me pass."
"No," Zee hugged him. "Let's just stay here."
"Zee---"
"It's not like you still have feelings for Anna," Zee looked up at him. "right?"
Tom bit his lip and made a small nod. With that, Zee smiled. She tiptoed and gave him a kiss. Tom kissed back and carried her towards the bed.
~~~
That night...
Anna was in her room. She was about to contact Bill when there was a sudden knock at her door.
"Bill," Anna was surprised to find him standing there. "I was about to text---"
"Hungry?" Bill smiled at her.
Anna nodded. "But gimme a few minutes to change---"
"What yew're wearing ist fine," Bill assured her. "Just bring a jacket and follow me."
Intrigued, Anna obliged.
Wierd Liebe= Chapter 33: Kait Lacyrima
After the scheduled show, everyone took 30-minute breaks before attending their interviews. Anna, as usual, was no where to be found; Georg and George played chess at the greenhouse;
Kait drifted off somewhere chatting away on her cellphone; Gustav seemed to have gone somewhere; Tom and Zee had dinner together; and Bill hurried to a building nearby.
Bill waited for a while. He was careful not to let anybody see him there. Ten minutes passed and finally, a woman showed up.
The woman looked like a jeweler. When she approached Bill, she handed him a dark oval case.
"Is this what you asked for, Herr Kaulitz?" The woman asked in German.
Bill looked inside the box and smiled. "Ja," he told her. "Danke, Freuline."
"It was my pleasure," she replied. "Will there be anything else?"
"Please make sure this stays confidential," Bill requested. "I don't want the media spitting out rumors about this."
"Certainly," the woman assured him.
After the woman left, Bill returned to the hotel.
~~~
Gustav wanted to take a walk before te interviews. As he walked past a corner, he found Kait. She was holding her cellphone up to ear but her eyes were in tears.
"I can't believe this," Gustav heard Kait say. "How could you even agree to that?!"
There was an answer from her recipient.
"No," Kait yelled. "She's your ex, Joe! How can that not mean anything?!"
There was a pause.
"Look, you know what, I don't care! IT'S OVER! We're done!" Kait hung up. She leaned against the wall and let herself weep.
Gustav hesitated. What would Kait think if he approached her now? She'd immediately find out he had been eavesdropping
He decided to turn back, but then he realized that he couldn't just leave her there. So, he put on his earphones and casually walked by to Kait direction.
"Kait?" he tried surprised to see her. "What's wrong?"
Kait looked at him and hastily wiped her eyes. "Nothing," she lied. "Nothing. I'm fine, Gus."
"Do I look stupid?" Gustav raised an eyebrow.
"Tsk," Kait bit her lip. Her tears started falling again.
"Kait," Gustav took a few steps closer to her. He reached for her hands. "I'm here, yew can talk to me."
"It's private Gutav," she turned away.
But Gustav shook his head. "Well, I'm not leaving you here."
Kait sighed. "Fine, let's go back to the hotel."
On the way there, Kait was silent. Gustav wanted to know what happened but he was in no position to ask her about it. Nevertheless, Gustav couldn't stop himself.
"What happened back there?" He asked Kait as they stopped in front of her door.
"I told you," Kait crossed her arms. "it's private. Besides, I don't want your judgement."
"I won't judge yew Kait," Gustav told her. "I just vant to know you're okay."
Kait studied him for a moment, then she sighed and opened the door.
"How much time do we have left before the interviews?" she asked.
Gustav checked his watch. "Not much."
"I gotta go get ready," Kait told him tonelessly. "We could talk after..."
Gustav nodded. "Okay."
~~~
At dinner, Tom and Zee talked about each other a little more.
"Who are your favorite artists?" Zee asked between dessert.
Tom grinned. "Samy Deluxe. What about yew?"
"The Jonas Brothers," Zee answered enthusiastically. "You should watch their latest music video. It's so cool!"
"I tot yew showed me er couple uf their videos already?" Tom reminded.
"That was nothing," Zee snorted. "You should see...."
But Tom wasn't listening. "Yew know what," he cut in. "Let's just look at eet after te interview."
"Oh right," Zee checked her watch. "I better go change."
"I'll walk yew to yer door," Tom offered.
It didn't take too long for the two to arrive at Zee's door.
Before they parted, Tom leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
As walked into her room, Anna got out of hers...Then both doors shut simultaneously.
Tom turned and found himself face to face with Anna. For a split-second, he had no idea what to say but then his mouth opened. "Hi."
Anna blinked. "Hey..."
Tom didn't know what to say next. "Have you...seen Bill?" he asked randomly.
"I was just about to look for him," Anna told him.
"Oh," Tom nodded. This was getting awkward.
"Tell you what," Anna said. "Why don't you get ready for the interview and I'll send him to you when I find him."
"Great," Tom muttered.
Anna made a small nod and began heading down the hallway.
"Anna," Tom called out. She looked back. "Me und yew, like tis. It's awkward."
"Doesn't matter," Anna may have grinned. Tom couldn't tell from where he stood. "Tour's almost over anyway. We'll be out of each other's hair soon."
Before Tom could say anything, Anna turned and disappeared into the elevator area.
In the elevator, Anna took a deep breath. Don't cry, she thought. Just hang in there...
Finally, the scheduled interviews took place. This time both bands were being interviewed together. The questions were similar: how did they meet, did they get along, who wrote the duet ...
and then they began asking about the issue between Zee and Tom. The questions asked about them were the ones the couple were prepared to answer. Except for one:
"Is it true that Tom had a 'thing' with Anna before he started dating Zee?"
The group looked at each other. Tom was about to consult their manager when suddenly, Anna spoke up.
"Tom and I were never anything like that," she lied with a warning smile. And that was that.
The interviewer, however, had more juicy questions.
"There has been a buzz that Tom and Zee are not the only couple in the group," the interviewer said. "Of course, there has been reported chemistry among its singers. Any comments on that?"
"Yew mean if Anna und I are an item?" Bill inquired.
The interview nodded.
"No," Anna and Bill said in unison.
"We're not a couple or anything," Anna answered.
"That's too bad," the interviewer remarked. "You two look cute together."
"Sorry," Bill winked. The others gave a chuckle.
"Speaking of cute couples," the interviewer went on. "Kait, how are you and Joe doing?"
Kait's throat suddenly went up in a knot. What am I gonna say? her heart raced.
"Kait," George whispered and lightly nudged her.
"We're---" Kait spat out. "Joe and I are..." She looked over to her friends and the staff in the room. Then she took a deep breath.
"We're not together anymore," she tried to sound calm. "We broke up."
Mouths dropped. Some gasped. Gustav bit his lip.
The interviewer leaned closer. "I'm sorry to hear that! What happened?"
Kate let out a childish whine. "I'm not so sure if I'm ready to answer that yet. It just happened before this interview."
"C'mon Kait," the interviewer pursuaded. "Let it out."
Kait shook her head but the interviewer wouldn't drop it. "Aw, Kait---"
"Time's up!" one of the managers cut in.
The interviewer stood up and the artists did the same. "Well," said the interviewer. "Thanks for your time. It was nice meeting you."
They shook hands and the interviwer and the other crew members left until only the two bands remained in the room.
Zee approached Kait and hugged her. "Why didn't you tell us?"
"There was no time," Kait told her. "It happened before the interview."
Anna patted her back. "So, what happened?"
Kait sighed. "He and his ex girlfriend!" she crossed her arms. She told them the whole story.
After the show, she called up Joe but a girl answered. When she got Joe on the line, he lied about who the girl was until she finally got the truth out of him. It turns out that it was Joe's ex-girlfriend who answered the phone.
She and Joe were out to have dinner that night.
"He it was just dinner," Kait went on. "But then I heard the skank in the background saying 'I thought we were getting back together!' and I just lost it. They were on a date and that definitely meant something! So I ended it."
"Come here," Anna hugged her.
"Don't feel sorry for me," Kait told the rest.
~~~
After a while, everyone decided to call it a night and headed into their rooms.
Kait checked her cellphone, there were sixteen missed calls which were all from Joe. But, she decided not to call him back.
And, she didn't have to. Joe was calling again.
Kait just stared at it; numerous things flooded her mind.
Should I answer it?
No.
But he might have an explanation!
He already explained.
But I love him.
He broke my heart!
Give him a chance...

Kait reached for her cell phone but then, there was a knock at the door. She got up and opened it and turned out to be Gustav.
Kait raised her brow. "If you're here to say 'I told you so', I will kill you."
Gustav held up his hands. "Easy," he teased. "You're hating te wrong guy."
Kait nearly chuckled. "What do you want?"
"To cheer yew up."
"I told you not to feel sorry for me---"
Gustav noticed the phone ringing. "You going to answer tat?"
Kait looked back. "Uh.. no. That's just Joe. He's been calling several times but I'm gonna turn my phone off soon."
"Don't," Gustav stepped forward but Kait let him in. "I've got un idea."
Kait watched as Gustav picked up her phone. He pressed a button, held it up to his ear and began saying something in German.
Kait began to laugh. "What are you doing?"
Gustav winked at her and went on blabbering in German. This went on for a few more moments until Joe got fed up and hung up. When he called again, Gustav would do the same thing until he finally gave up.
"Here," Gustav handed Kait the phone.
"That was funny," Kait smiled. "And to think that Joe had more sense than to call a few more times after the second attempt."
"Could yew blame him?" Gustav headed for the door. "Well, it looks like you're okay now."
"Hey Gus," Kait called after him. "Thanks."
